Death Leads To Elderly Abuse Arrest

On February 23, 2010 the Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a elderly abuse hotline investigation at a residence at RR 3 Box 26A Kahoka, MO. Agencies  Assisting with the call include The Division of Family Services and the Childrens Division, and The Clark County Sheriffs Office.  
During the investigation they spoke with Linda Gargus age 58 residing at the same residence.  They questioned Mrs. Gargus regarding the care of her mother that had recently been taken by ambulance to the hospital for wounds on her body due to neglect.
Lorraine Gargus age 81 died from her wounds on Thursday March 11, 2010.
On Friday March 12, 2010 Linda Gargus was arrested for 1st degree Elderly abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.  She was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where she is being held on a $35,000 cash only bond.
