Mickey (Mike) Wayne Williams

Mickey (Mike) Wayne Williams, 72 of Wayland, Missouri died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 3:57 PM at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

The son of Robert S. and Bessie Slusher Williams was born on February 4, 1938 in Keokuk, Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Gloria Burnett on April 7, 2001 in Kahoka, Missouri.

Mike attended the Bluff Springs United Methodist Church near Canton, Missouri. He served in the US Army from 1956 until 1958. He liked to make people laugh and make soy candles and he enjoyed doing small engine repair on lawnmowers.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Williams of Wayland, Mo.; seven children, Dianna Wall & husband Donnie of Mt. Sterling, Il., Vicky Fox & husband Floyd of Kahoka, Mo., Kevin Williams & wife Kathy of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Christina Anderson & husband Rob of Keokuk, Ia., Sheila Stark & husband Greg of Keokuk, Ia., Robert Williams & special friend Robin Lewis of Wayland, Mo. and Timothy Ellison of Kahoka, Mo.; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Bryant of Keokuk, Ia. and Carol Wall & husband Gene of Bushnell, Il.; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Scott Watts.

Memorial funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Wayland United Methodist Church in Wayland, Missouri with Pastor Barb Hagerla officiating with military honors by Kahoka Ayer Boatman VFW Post #4342.

Memorials may be made to the Mike Williams Memorial Fund.
