Nellie “Faye” Colwell

Nellie “Faye” Colwell, age 95, of Camdenton, Missouri passed away January 18, 2010at Windsor Estates Care Center in Camdenton, Missouri.

She was born February 4, 1914 in Downing, Missouri a daughter to Andrew Martin and Julia (Roseborugh) Martin.

Surviving is one daughter, Shirley Thorn and husband Gene Thorn of Camdenton, Missouri; three grandchildren, Mark Thorn and wife Patsy of Lebanon, Missouri, Julie Paden of Holt Summit, Missouri, and Martina Lewis and husband Buzz of Keaau, Hawaii, four great-grandchildren , Jessica Renner, Travis Shaffer, Joshua Shaffer and Katie Paden, and one great-great granddaughter, Ryleigh Renner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Colwell on September, 29, 1989, two sisters Lela June Martin (infant), and Anna Mae Martin, and two infant sons, John Carter Colwell and Edward Andrew Colwell.

Faye graduated from the Burlington Beauty Academy in Burlington, Iowa on July 10, 1964. For twenty three years she had a successful hair salon in Alexandria, Missouri. Upon retiring, Faye and Dallas moved to the Ozarks, to be near their daughter and family

.

Faye had many hobbies, she was known as “Pepper Martin” when she pitched softball. She also loved to dance, including the Charleston . Shopping, however, was her main love. She enjoyed shopping, especially at Wal-Mart, for herself and others .

The family would like to thank the staff at Windsor Estates Care Center for their caring spirit for Faye during her stay.

Visitation will be Friday 5-7 p.m.  January 22, 2010 at Hedges Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. Grave side services will be held at a later date at the Sand Cemetery in St. Francisville, Missouri.
