STEVE J. PATRICK

Steve J. Patrick, age 52, of rural Canton, MO, died peacefully at his home at the Lake of the Oaks with family at his side, early Thursday morning, July 2, 2009, following a two-year battle with cancer.

Steve was born September 20, 1956 at Clinton, MO, a son of John K. and Gladys Starr Patrick.

He is survived by his brother, Tim Patrick, of Clintonville, WI; a sister, Cathy Winfrey of Kahoka, MO; special aunt, Maerita Starr of Clintonville, WI; as well as other relatives, many friends, including good friends, Pete and Ruth Henson, also of the Lake of the Oaks. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Steve graduated from Clintonville High School and received two years of technical schooling. He was a self-employed woodcutter, handyman and firewood salesman and enjoyed particularly working out doors on his acreage at the Lake.

Steve was a member of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church and appreciated the strength and encouragement he received there. He was a Nascar fan and a huge Chiefs and Packers fan.

He loved to ride motorcyles and spend time on his land. He was always eager to help others and loved being with his friends, family and his two cats.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Dr. David Castordale officiating. Cremation followed.

Visitation was held after 9 a.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Memorials in lieu of flowers were suggested to Blessing Hospice (Hancock Co.).
