Senator Brian Munzlinger Urges the Governor to Sign Senate Bill 113

Jefferson City — State Sen. Brian Munzlinger, R-Williamstown, is asking the governor to sign legislation that would make changes to new laws created by Proposition B.

“I am urging the governor to sign Senate Bill 113 to provide some stability to the thousands of Missourians and their employees who make their living in the dog breeding industry,” Sen. Munzlinger said. “These Missourians should not be worried about an unfunded mandate, unenforceable regulations and perhaps even the unconstitutional petition of Proposition B. Now that the governor has joined in looking for a common-sense solution, I am urging him to sign Senate Bill 113 so we can work together for Missouri’s animal agriculture industry.”

The Missouri House passed Senate Bill 113 last week and sent the measure to the governor for his signature. Yesterday, the governor’s office announced that a deal had been struck with varying groups for a new approach to dog breeding laws in Missouri, which they hope would supersede the provisions of SB 113.
