Ellen Kay Cary, of Lewistown, Missouri, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at 3:30 p.m., at Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, at 7 years of age.
The daughter of Eric and Harriet Smith Cary, Ellen was born March 4, 2000, in Hannibal, Missouri.
She was a first grade student at Highland Elementary School of the Lewis County C-1 School District, Ewing, Missouri.
Some of her very favorite things to do were fishing, drawing and playing with her friends and family.
She attended Park United Methodist Church in Lewistown and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Steffenville.
Surviving are her parents, Eric and Harriet Cary of Lewistown, a sister, Jessie Cary and a brother Danny Cary, both of the home; her great-grandmother, Jessie Aline Williams of Canton, Missouri; grandparents, Lester and Jean Cary, Peggy Grover, and Eloise Cary, all of Lewistown; an aunt and uncle; several cousins; several great aunts and uncles; step aunts and uncles, and many friends.
Her great grandparents, Henry Cary, Gertie Cary, and Elmer Williams and a great uncle, Delmar Scoggin all preceded her in death.
Reverend Sam Smith and Reverend Tim Stevens officiated for services held on Sunday, May 27, 2007, at the Park United Methodist Church, Lewistown, with burial following in the Lewistown Cemetery, Lewistown, Missouri.
Jay Houghton, David Bugh, Richie Lay and Steve McKenzie served as pallbearers. Bob Kurk, Tyler Cary, Marvin Swenka, Eugene Cary, Kenny Penn, and Chris Parrish served as honorary pallbearers.
“Go Rest High On That Mountain” by Vince Gill and “I Believe” by Brooks and Dunn were the musical selections for the service.
