Fred A. Snyder


   Fred Allen Snyder age 91, of the Bible Grove community, died Wednesday May 30, 2007, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, Missouri.

   Mr. Snyder was born January 25, 1916, in Kirksville, Missouri the son of Raymon and Lola Crandall Snyder.

   On May 20, 1951, he was united in marriage to Iva Marie Emmons at LaPlata, Missouri and she preceded him in death on February 28, 2003.  He hHe e was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers Willard, Maurice, Wayne, Myrl and Fay, five sisters, Ruby, Doris, Corrine, Irene and Zelma.

Surviving is one son, Harold J. Snyder of Bible Grove, Missouri, one granddaughter Lara Marie Snyder of New Bloomfield, Missouri, one sister Helen Iona Linneman of Reston, Virginia, one sister-in-law, Geneva Perez of Salem, Oregon and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

   He was a graduate of Bible Grove School. Mr. Snyder served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was engaged in farming in the Bible Grove community most of his life.  He was a member of Greensburg Lodge # 414 A.F. & A.M., Colony chapter #543 O.E.S., and was also a founding member of Willmathsville Wagon Masters and the Bible Grove Historical Preservation Committee.

   Fred enjoyed working with horses spending time with his family.

   Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Saturday June 2, 2007, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. The Reverend Jamie Franke officiated the services.  Burial was in the Bible Grove Christian Church Cemetery.
