G. Dennis Scheiderer
G. Dennis Scheiderer, age 56, of Olean, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Moberly on April 1, 1951, a son of the late Gustav Henry and Margaret W. (Biere) Scheiderer. On July 2, 1977, at Leonard Christian Church, he was married to Sandra Gander, who survives at the home.
Dennis was raised in Salisbury where he was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. In 1969 Dennis graduated valedictorian from Salisbury High School. In 1973 he received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Husbandry and a minor in Agricultural Economics from the University of Missouri Columbia, where he was also a member of the Beta Sigma Psi IOTA Chapter fraternity. He began working for Farm Credit Services in Edina. He then moved to Muscatine, Iowa, where he worked for Kent Feed and then later returned to Missouri to work for Farm Credit Services in Canton and Kirksville and then the Bank of Kirksville. Dennis was later employed with Citizens Bank of Eldon for 10 years where he was vice president of the loan department. He was very active in S.C.O.R.E.; a financial advisory organization and was a part of the Eldon Development Corporation through the Eldon Chamber of Commerce. He was the livestock chairman for the Miller County Fair Board and was also on the board of directors for the Independent Living Resource Center. Dennis was a member of Eldon Kiwanis, where he served on all chairs including president, vice president and past Lieutenant Governor of District 11. He was also a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Eldon, where he served on the board of directors and was an elder. Dennis enjoyed being outdoors, farming and gardening. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; especially his three sons.
Others who survive him include: three children, Derrick Austin, Drew Anthony and Seth Landon Scheiderer, all of the home; one sister, Patsy Scheiderer of Salisbury; one uncle, Paul Biere, three aunts, Vera Wirth, Lorene Gebhardt and Edith Riddle and his companion and guide dog, Pembroke.
Services were at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 4, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Eldon. Pastor Pete Lange officiated. Interment was in Eldon City Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, Bethany Lutheran Church or Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
