 SENATOR SHOEMYER TO SPEAK AT GOOD NEIGHBOR PICNIC

Clark Countians for Local Control is hosting a Good Neighbor Picnic on Saturday, June 16, at Battle of Athens State Park, beginning at 12:00 noon.  Food will be served from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the shelter house along with live music through out the day and early evening.

Senator Wes Shoemyer will be among guests from around the State coming together to enjoy the day at the park.

Clark Countians for Local Control is comprised of citizens concerned about the health, quality of life and property rights of people in the county due to the influx of large corporate animal operations.

“CCLC works to inform and educate the general public on these issues and also works with other organizations, individuals and legislators around Missouri on legislative measures concerning local control of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFO’s).” stated Doug Schmeizer, Chairman of Clark Countians for Local Control. “ CCLC’s immediate goal is the enactment and maintenance of local ordinances for the protection and welfare of all citizens of Clark County.  We believe government works best when it’s closest to the people”.
