Frances E. Decker Hendry

   Frances Elizabeth Decker Hendry, age 89, formerly of Joplin, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at a health care facility in Azle, Texas.

   She was born September 15, 1917 in Villisca, Iowa to the late Francis Howard Decker, and Verlin Ellen Neal Decker. She has lived in northeast Missouri; Joplin; Pittsburg, Kansas; and Mount Vernon before moving to the Fort Worth, Texas area. She was a homemaker, a member of the Methodist Church, and loved to make quilts and embroidery.

   She married Albert W. Hendry on October 12, 1935 in Villisca, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1988. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Hendry; a sister, Bernice Murphy; a brother, Fred Decker; and a son-in-law, William Murphy, Jr.

   She is survived by a son, Paul Hendry, Springtown, Texas; one daughter, Peggy Murphy, Las Cruces, New Mexico; one sister, Lois Hunziker, Kahoka, Missouri; two brothers, Robert Decker, Cypress, California, William Decker, Carrollton, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Vicki Hendry of Joplin; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.

   Private graveside services were held Friday June 15, 2007 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, with Reverend Bob Simon officiating.

   Arrangements were under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
