Senior Salute Slated

   The fourth annual Illinois vs. Missouri Senior Softball Salute is scheduled for Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Harry Phillips Field in Quincy, Ill. The first game of a twilight doubleheader is scheduled for 5PM.

   Graduating senior softball players from area Missouri and Illinois high schools will square off. The Missouri all-stars swept both ends of the 2006 doubleheader. The previous two meetings were doubleheader splits.

   Paul Littleton of Unity HS will coach the Illinois all-stars. Pittsfield, Griggsville-Perry, Carthage, Warsaw-Nauvoo, Central-Southeastern, Unity of Mendon and both Quincy high schools will be represented.

   Brooke Hudson will represent Mark Twain HS as the Missouri all-star teams’ head coach. Deondra Bertelli will represent Clark County High School.

   Missouri softball all-staters Jodie Schultz, and Stephanie Schultz of Highland HS along with North Shelby product Kelsey Resa and Jessi Stuart of Mark Twain HS will lead the Missouri side.

   All Clarence Cannon Conference players Ashley Stice and Stephanie Jones will play for the Missouri team representing Highland High School.

   Kristen Scholl will represent defending Class 2 champion Palmyra. Jennifer Hamilton, Jessica Davis and Terri Christal will represent Mark Twain HS. J.C. Ellis will represent Bowling Green HS.
