Agnes D. Moore

Agnes D. Moore

Agnes D. Moore, age 87 of Tucson, Arizona died June 30, 2007.  She was born February 4, 1920, the daughter of Homer Yancy and Georgia Belle (Steffen) Rich.

She is survived by her children Gregory L. Moore and wife Meredith of Chandler, Arizona and Jody A. Maciulla and husband Jim of Tucson, Arizona and grand dog Lucy.  Her husband, Kenneth T. Moore, preceded her in death.

She was a member of Pusch Ridge Christian Church where she enjoyed quilting and participating in the King’s Ladies Circle.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star and volunteered at the Amphitheater Clothing Bank.

Always a sports enthusiast, she enjoyed following the University of Arizona Wildcats and in her younger years, played softball, basketball, and volleyball.  Her hobbies included reading, walking, and cooking.

For several years she owned the First Lady Beauty Salon, finally retiring from the business in 1988.  She never really retired, and kept her license and continued to do hair at home even traveling to homes of those who couldn’t get out.

Outgoing and friendly, Agnes never met a stranger.  She had a way of making people feel at ease and was a natural greeter at church.  Humble, adventuresome, fun loving, and devoted to her family…a worker and fighter until the end.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hudson Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina.  The Palmyra Constellation Chapter #382 conducted Eastern Star Services.  Reverend David Doctorian officiated.  Burial was in the Newark Cemetery in Newark, Missouri.

Memorials in honor of Agnes Moore may be made to Newark Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Hudson Rimer Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1, Edina, Missouri 63537.  E-mail condolences may be sent to hrimer@marktwain.net
