QUINCY UNIVERSITY APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS
Syndi Peck has been appointed to the position of director of admissions at Quincy University. Peck joined the QU staff in January of 2006 as coordinator of non-traditional and graduate student recruitment. She was named interim director of admissions in January of 2007.
“Syndi’s track record with our professional degree and graduate programs speaks volumes about her leadership and recruitment skills,” said Dr. David Schachtsiek, interim president. “We’re already seeing positive results in the short time she’s been leading the office of admissions. We’re confident the future of QU’s enrollment is in good hands under her direction and leadership.”
Peck will lead Quincy University’s admissions personnel, cultivate contacts with high schools and junior colleges, coordinate the development of admissions publications, assist in the creation of student financial aid packages and develop new markets and relationships for effective recruiting. She will continue to oversee the recruitment of non-traditional and graduate programs until the position is filled.
“I’m very pleased and excited about this new venture,” said Peck. “The entire QU community has been involved in our new recruitment strategies, and we’re already seeing incredible results.”
Peck has been teaching professional issues, introduction to measurement, and social and cultural foundations for QU’s professional degree program since 2000. She previously held several positions at Transitions of Western Illinois, including coordinator of children’s services and coordinator of neurological/birth to three services, from 1980 to 2005.
Peck received a M.A. in human development counseling from University of Illinois – Springfield in 1995, and a B.S. in psychology, business administration and economics from Culver-Stockton College in 1980.
