RUTH (FUNK) BERRY

 

   Ruth Irene (Funk) Berry, 82, of Calhoun, Missouri, died Sunday, August 5, 2007, at the Western Missouri Medical Center, Warrrensburg, MO.

   She was born March 13, 1925, south of Windsor, Missouri, the daughter of Albert Parker Funk and Goldie Ann (McClain) Funk.  On June 27, 1946, in Windsor, MO, she married Edgar Ray Berry.  He preceded her death on May 27, 1999.

   Mrs. Berry worked at the Windsor International Shoe Factory for 32 years, retiring in 1984.  Ruth enjoyed reading her Bible, quilting, embroidery, gardening, cooking, horses and spending time with her family.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Calhoun.  The Calhoun Colt Show Book was dedicated in honor of Ruth in 2005.

   Survivors include a son, Kenneth Ray Berry and his wife, Marianne, Edina, MO; a daughter, Joyce Irene Williams and her husband, Harry Earl, Calhoun, MO; four grandchildren, Robert Ray Williams, Patrick Earl Williams, Maria Teresa Berry and Christopher Ray Berry; two great-grandchildren, Deanna Williams and Dylan Williams, two sisters, including her twin sister, Ruby Ilene Miller and Alberta Louise Crawford, both of Clinton, MO; a brother, Herbert Lee Funk and his wife, Barbara, Windsor, MO; and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

   In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Horace Martin Funk and two sisters, Sarah Adeline Church and Roberta Maxine Baskins. 

   Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 9, at the First Baptist Church, Calhoun, with Reverend Kevin Schildknecht officiating.  Burial was in the Calhoun Cemetery, Calhoun.
