1918 – 2007

 

     Thelma Doris Cloud, 88, of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA.

     She was born on September 18, 1918 in Wyaconda, MO, the daughter of Otto and Ollie Grubb Clatt.  On December 8, 1940, Doris was united in marriage to Morris William “Bill” Cloud in Wyaconda, MO.  He preceded her in death on August 12, 2007.

     She graduated from the Wyaconda High School.  She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk, IA and a long-time member of the Service Circle of the church.

     Doris was a navy wife and lived in Long Beach, CA, Bremerton, WA, Tacoma, WA, Kirkland, WA and Washington D.C.  After the war, she and her husband made their home in Keokuk, IA.

     Doris was a Fuller Brush Dealer for twenty-seven years and enjoyed visiting her friends while selling her product. 

     She enjoyed flying and she and her husband made many trips together.

     She is survived by two sons, Duane Cloud and his wife Carrie of Jacksonville, FL and Steven Cloud and his wife Connie of Mt. Zion, IL, six grandchildren, Kristan Malin, Brenda Cloud, Tony Corvaia, Tim Corvaia, Brandon Cloud and Justin Cloud, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Ruby Francisco of Olympia, WA and Twila Kapfer of Sun City, AZ, cousins, nieces and nephews.

     She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Cloud Corvaia.

     Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Geoffrey Mitchell officiating.  Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery.

     Visitation will be held after 1 p.m., Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with the family meeting with friends from 6 – 8 p.m.

     Memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ Service Circle.
