Results Of Selective Traffic Enforcement Operations Conducted In Troop B Area During The Month Of August

Captain John W. Elliott, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of Selective Traffic Enforcement Operations conducted in the Troop B area during the month of August 2007.  The goal of the additional traffic enforcement operations is to detect hazardous moving violations and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes.
On August 3, 2007, four troopers focused their attention on U.S. Highway 61, throughout Troop B.  During the eight-hour enforcement operation, officers made 16 arrests and issued 27 warnings.  Of those arrests, 11 individuals were cited for speeding, three were cited for seat belt violations, one for a hazardous moving violation, and one was cited for a non-moving violation.
On August 10, 2007, four troopers focused their attention on U.S. Highway 24, throughout Troop B.  During the eight-hour enforcement operation, officers made 29 arrests and issued 57 warnings.  Of those arrests, 13 individuals were cited for speeding, 11 were cited for seat belt violations, two were cited for non-moving violations, two were cited for driver’s license violations, and one was cited for an insurance violation.
“The Patrol wants to do everything possible to help reduce traffic crashes and fatalities in Missouri,” stated Captain Elliott.  “I urge all motorists to pay close attention to their driving habits and always wear their seat belts.”
