By Chris Heimer

The Highland Cougars Football Team dropped their season opener 50-12 to the Macon Tigers.

The Cougars bright spot came from Caleb Tasco who had three kick returns for 192 yards and two touchdowns.  The offense just couldn’t get going as Kyle Ellison attempted three passes and completed none of them.

On the ground Craig Sutter led the way with 21 yards on six carries, Ellison added nine yards on three carries, and Roberts had seventeen yards on seven carries.

Overall the Cougars had 64 rushing yards on 26 carries and no passing yards.

The Cougars rebounded to beat the Louisiana Bulldogs 26-0 on Friday, September 7th, but no stats were available at press time to give them a record of 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the Clarence Cannon Conference.
