Tigers Take Fifth Straight Baseball Win at Green City

   Brashear took a four run lead after two innings of a September 14 Tri-County Conference baseball game at Green City. Jacob Shipman fanned five batters in five innings pitched, picking up the victory during a 9-2 decision. Kale Watson recorded a save, fanning five batters in two innings pitched.

   Matt Thomas walked and later scored the Tigers’ first run during the first inning. Walks and errors aided the Brashear cause. Green City hurler Jesse Estrada struck out a batter, ending the first inning with the bases loaded and Brashear leading by a run.

   Daniel Smith led off the Tiger second inning with a hit. Matt Thomas tripled in the second Brashear run. Justin Hazen followed with an RBI single. Hazen stole his way to third base and scored the fourth Brashear run on Kiley Watson’s ground out.

   Justin Hazen reached base on an error and later scored. Kiley Watson singled and crossed the plate for a 6-0 Brashear lead after five innings. Daniel Smith walked and scored the seventh BHS run in the sixth inning.

   An error, a walk and a wild pitch helped Green City score two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Jacob Shipman led off the Tiger seventh inning with a double. Shipman stole third and scored the eighth BHS run. Trae Treasure crossed the plate after a Kale Watson hit and another error.

   Brashear (5-0) scored nine runs on nine hits and three errors. Matt Thomas went 2-4 with two runs scored. Jacob Shipman was 2-4 at bat with a run scored.
