Lady Indians Enter Final Week Of 2007 Regular Season

The Clark County Lady Indians enter the final week of the 2007 season with a 9-6 record.
Last weekend, September 15, the Lady Indians went 2-1 at the Paris Tournament.  Clark County opened with a disappointing performance in a 5-1 loss to Canton.  Brooke Wheeler scored the lone Lady Indian run in the sixth inning.
Clark County bounced back in the second game, downing host Paris 9-4.  Seven Lady Indians crosses the plate as they spread the scoring around.  Rachel Daw and Dani Dochterman each scored two runs, while Kassidy Shuman, Brianna Alderton, Brenna Buford, Emily Stewart and Caitlyn Davis each added one run.
The Lady Indians won the consolation title after downing Wellsville by a 4-0 margin.  Wheeler and Stewart scored in the fourth inning, and Buford and Davis added runs in the sixth inning.
The Lady Indians travelled to Canton on September 17, and got a little payback on the Lady Tiger, downing the 4-0.  Shuman scored twice, once in the third and again in the seventh, and Wheeler scored in both the fifth and seventh innings.
The Lady Indians hosted Kirksville on Thursday night, and came up short in a 5-1 decision.  Kassidy Shuman and Brooke Wheeler both had hot bats, going 3 for 4 appearances at the plate.  Shuman score the sole run in the fifth inning.
The Lady Indians will travel to Knox County on Tuesday this week, before returning on Thursday to host the Lady Rams of Schuyler.
Next Monday night, the Lady Indians will host Putnam County for the final game of the regular season. Lady Indian senior players and their parents will be honored at that game.
District playoff will beging next week, as the Lady Indians will face Scotland County at Schuyler County on Wednesday, October 1.
