District Seeds Set

Cairo (18-3) drew the top seeding in the MSHSAA Class 1, District 9 softball tournament at Knox County. North Shelby (13-8) was the second seeded team followed by LaPlata (13-7). District play is slated for October 4-6.
First round action begins at 2PM on Thursday, October 4. Fourth seeded Brashear (12-7) takes on fifth seeded Knox County (8-12) starting off tournament play. Two more Thursday contests will determine district semi-finalists.
LaPlata takes the field with sixth seeded Paris (5-14) in 4PM first round action. North Shelby challenges seventh seed Atlanta (4-11) with a 6PM scheduled first pitch.
The winner of the Knox County vs. Brashear first round game takes the field with top seeded Cairo at 4PM on Friday, October 5 in the opening semi-final game. The second semi-final game has a 6PM slated first pitch.
The District 9 softball championship game is scheduled for Saturday, October 6 at noon.
