RUBY ELLEN WILSEY PERKINS

     Ruby Ellen Wilsey Perkins, 93, of Keokuk, IA, died Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA.

     She was born on November 13, 1913 in Rockport, IL, the daughter of Edward & Katherine Benjamin.  She married Marvin A. Wilsey in December 29, 1931 in Keokuk, IA and he preceded her in death on August 28, 1985.  She married John D. Cady on June 27, 1987 and he preceded her in death on March 28, 1993.  She then married John W. Perkins in 1994 and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2006.

     Ruby was a member of the Family Worship Center in Keokuk and loved to attend worship services.

     She was a talented writer of poetry. She often put her poems to music and then sang them a cappella at her church.  She loved to crochet dresses for dolls and enjoyed putting puzzles together and playing dominos.  Ruby was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

     She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Seavey of Keokuk, IA, and Barb Hooper of Quincy, IL, five sons, Robert Wilsey and his wife Bette Rose of Keokuk, Bernard Wilsey and his wife Carol of Keokuk, Carl Wilsey & his wife Karen of Kahoka, MO, Donald Wilsey & his wife Jackie of Keokuk and James Wilsey Sr. & his wife Cherie of Keokuk, twenty-one grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

     She was also preceded in death by one son, David Leroy Wilsey, her parents, a sister, Ethel Kirkhart and two granddaughters, Cathy June Wilsey and Ruby Mae Shelley and one grandson in infancy.

     Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at the Sand Cemetery in St. Francisville, MO with Reverend Bill Hayes officiating.  Family & friends may meet at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA at 1 p.m. and go to the cemetery in procession.

    There will be no visitation.
