WHINERY, FLORIAN FRANCES

   NORFOLK – There was a glorious celebration as Florian Frances Harrington Whinery, 71, of Birmingham Ave., arrived in her Father’s Heavenly Home on Wed., Sept. 12, 2007. She had worked for many years at the Naval Supply Center, as well as the Colorcraft Corporation in Norfolk, and most recently was the receptionist for 17 years at Pembroke Towers. Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Florian Pelot Harrington and Harry Moore Harrington.

  Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Robert Emery Whinery, Sr.; a brother, Harry O. Harrington and wife, Kathleen of Norfolk; a daughter, Joni E. Harvey and husband, Rodney of Luray, MO; three sons, Robert E. Whinery, Jr. of Norfolk, Shelby L. Whinery of Dallas, TX, and William H. Whinery and wife, Joy of Baxter, MN; and two grandchildren, Christopher and Allison Whinery. As well as many cherished friends at Squires Memorial Presbyterian Church, T.O.P.S., AL-ANON, A.A., Pembroke Towers.

  A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 15, 2007 in the chapel of Cox Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be offered to the family through www.dmvobits.com/cox.
