William W. Knoche, Sr.

   William (Bill) Wesley Knoche, Sr., age 81, of rural LaBelle, Missouri, died Friday, November 16, 2007, suddenly in his home.

   He was born August 6, 1926, in Warsaw, Illinois, the son of William Herman and Helen Marie Tweston Knoche. 

   He was united in marriage to Clara Finck on March 1, 1948, in the Lutheran Parsonage in Palmyra, Missouri.  She survives.  He was of the Lutheran faith.

   Mr. Knoche served his country in the Unites States Navy during World War II from August 3, 1944, to August 1, 1947, and was stationed in Japan.

   Bill spent most of his life farming in the Steffenville and LaBelle area.  He drove a school bus for Lewis County C-1 Schools for several years.  He worked with his son, Bill Jr. for Knoche Construction over the past fifteen years.

   Bill’s loved ones will always remember him for his hard work, love of music and the joy he gave to his family.

   In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children.  Four sons, William (Bill) Knoche, Jr. and wife Betty of LaBelle, Missouri, Samuel Knoche and wife Mary of Ewing, Missouri, John Knoche and wife Susan of LaGrange, Missouri and Dale Knoche and wife Cindy of Defiance, Missouri, two daughters, Debbie Manyx of Queen City, Missouri and Tammy Knoche of LaBelle, Missouri, thirteen grandchildren, Brian Manyx and wife Amy of Kirksville, Missouri, Jeremy Knoche and wife Penny of Russellville, Missouri, Andrea Knoche and Trey Knoche of Florence, Kentucky, Megan Knoche of Kirksville, Missouri, Evan Knoche and Ashlan Knoche of LaGrange, Missouri, Luke and Taylor Knoche of Defiance, Missouri, Angie (Tim) Johnsen of Spring, Texas, Meredith (Brian) Reed of Palmyra, Missouri, Cody Wilson of Palmyra, Missouri and Heather Roman of Springfield, Missouri, five great grandchildren, Kierra Manyx, Jillian and Evan Johnsen and Alexandria and Brianna Reed, two sisters, Rose Mary (Rosie) McCutchan and Martha (Sue) Johnson both of Canton, Missouri.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Virginia Sonneborn and an infant child.

   Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2007, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri.  The Reverend Ryan Stiffler officiated the services.  Music was provided by Rose Mary McCutchan and Sue Johnson. Burial with full military honors was in the Steffenville Cemetery at Steffenville, Missouri. Casket bearers were his grandsons, Brian Manyx, Jeremy Knoche, Cody Wilson, Trey Knoche, Evan Knoche and Luke Knoche. Honorary bearers were his granddaughters, Angie Johnsen, Meredith Reed, Megan Knoche, Andrea Knoche, Heather Roman, Ashlan Knoche and Taylor Knoche.
