  Robert “Bob” Evan Stanley, Sr. passed away peacefully in his home on October 29, 2007 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 6, 1942 in Washington, Iowa and graduated High School in Oskaloosa, IA.

   His Father, Bernard Stanley, Mother, Lovina Stanley, Grandson, Justin Dochterman, Father & Mother-in-Laws, Lawrence and Wanda Kinkeade, Grandparents and others, preceded him in death. 

   He is survived by his loving wife, Paula (Scovern) of 30 years; children, Dustin Dochterman and wife Annie of Wayland, Missouri, Tonya Hayden, Robert Evan Stanley II and wife Sarah all of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Dustin and Shane Dochterman, Summer Hayden and Robert Evan Stanley III; Sister, Donna, of New Mexico, Sister-in-Law, Sheila Wood and Husband Mick, of Kahoka, MO and many other Relatives & Friends.

   Bob loved hearing the words “Hi PaPa” and always had a love of horses.  He loved the open road, driving his Kenworth, "The PM Express", cross-country where he made friends everywhere. He never knew a stranger and was always willing to help anyone.  A Heartwarming Celebration of Life was held Friday, November 2, 2007 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel in Texas. It included a beautiful slide show of Bob’s life thru pictures & music, Eulogies by Tonya Hayden and Sheila Wood, and Special Music by Family Friend & Country Music Artist, J.T. Coldfire. 

   A lovely meal was served prior to services, at St. John Lutheran Church.  A memorial has been established in Bob’s name at Christus Spohn Cancer Center, 1415 Santa Fe St., Corpus Christi, Texas 78404.
