Tigers Take Second TCC Victory Over Atlanta Hornets

Brashear (7-1, 2-0 in the Tri-County Conference) hit the home standing Atlanta Hornets with a 26-9 second quarter run and went on to a 69-41 victory in December 20,2007 varsity boys’ hoop play.
The Tigers rained four three pointers down on the Hornets during the second quarter and six on the night.
Atlanta took the ball to the hole during the first quarter and was rewarded with 14 free throw attempts. The Hornets sank seven of their 12 made free throws during the first quarter.
Brashear took a 12-11 lead into the second quarter. Defensive adjustments along with playing defense without fouling limited Atlanta to nine second quarter points. The Tigers unleashed their high octane offense. Six different Brashear players scored running the halftime lead to 38-20.
Brashear was perfect from the free throw line during the third quarter. Four made free throws and scoring from five different Tigers made for a 52-30 lead at the three quarter pole.
The Tigers put in 21 field goals, while limiting Atlanta to ten two pointers on the night. Anthony Ambrosia sank a BHS three ball during the fourth quarter. Ambrosia finished with five Tiger points.
Zeke Garnett was the high point man with 15 Atlanta points. Javaun West was next in line with nine Hornet points. Atlanta was 12-23 at the free throw line and connected on three home run balls as a team.
Kale Watson led Brashear with 14 points. Ten Brashear players dented the scorebook during the Tigers’ final game before the Christmas Break.
Jacob Shipman was in double figures with 11 points. Justin Hazen and Ryan Ferdig tossed in eight points each. Trae Treasure and David Anderson scored six BHS points each.
Matt Thomas scored five points. Kiley Watson scored four points and Jacob Owen added two. The Tigers travel to Schuyler County for their next high school basketball game on Friday, January 4, 2008.
