The Clark County Indians opened their first game of the Highland Tournament at 11:30 a.m. taking on the Unity Mustangs.
The Indians had a very easy game against the Mustangs as the first quarter Colt Sommers took over inside and scored 7 points, the same as Unity scored. Ethan Allen added 5, Brian Plenge had 4 and took the quarter 21-7.
The second quarter was not much better for the Mustangs as Ethan Allen added 6, Lynn Williams had 5 and the Indians outscored Unity 18-9 to take a 39-16 into halftime.
The third quarter was the worst for the Mustangs. Brian Plenge added another 8, Lynn Williams added 6, Scott McAfee added 4 while Ryan St. Clair made 2 of 4 technical free throws as Unity Coach was ejected and Clark took the quarter 24-7 to take a 63-23 lead into the final quarter.
Coach Smith emptied his bench and both teams played even in the final quarter as they both scored 7 points each and the Indians cruised to a 70-30 victory.
The Indians will move to the semi-finals and will take on the host Highland Cougars on Wednesday, January 2 at 8:00 p.m.
