Cougars Play For Unbeaten CCC Boys Championship

   Highland rallied from a 31-26 halftime deficit for a 59-47 Clarence Cannon Conference home win over Centralia on February 15. The Cougars improved to 18-5 on the season. Highland is ranked tenth in the current Class 3 state poll.

   The Cougars responded to the Panther challenge with a 19-5 third quarter run. Highland was without forward Tad Luebbehusen due to injury. Cole Hetzler sat out several minutes in foul trouble. Josh Mims led the Cougars with 22 points. John Mims added 15 Highland points.

  Highland topped Louisiana by a 71-27 score earlier in the week. Kyle Ellison led the way with 16 Cougar points. Highland is now 6-0 in the boys’ conference standings. Highland is riding a 20 game conference win streak over the last three seasons.

   The Cougars take on Clark County on Tuesday, February 19. Highland will go for their third straight boys’ conference title at Macon on February 21.
