John Joseph Sanderson

John Joseph Sanderson, 50, was a resident of Johnstown, Colorado for 25 years, and of Arbela, Missouri since 2000, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008 in Kahoka, Missouri.

Born May 31, 1957 at Fort Madison, Iowa, he was the son of Harry and Doris Dawdy Sanderson.

Survivors include special friend and companion Elizabeth Montgomery of Arbela, three brothers Terriray Sanderson of Fort Madison, Gerry Allen (Kristy) Sanderson of Greeley, Colorado, Jay (Kim) Sanderson of Fort Madison, Iowa, six sisters Linda Daughters of Hamilton, Illinois, Sherry Hamilton of Des Moines, Sue Sanderson of Donnellson, Sandra Sanderson of Keokuk, Bonnie Hernandez of Adel, Iowa, Jayne (Roger) Courtney of Denver, Colorado, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

John accepted Christ into his life at an early age, and currently attended the Arbela Baptist Church. He was a truck driver owner & operator. He retired from Good’s Trucking Company in November 2006 due to his health. He enjoyed listening to music, the outdoors, talking to people, motorcycles, trucking, and raising chickens. He was also a big history buff.

A graveside memorial service for John Sanderson will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Evangelical Cemetery in Donnellson with Rev. Gerald Day officiating.

A memorial has been established in his memory.

Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home and Crematory in Donnellson is assisting the family with arrangements.
