Macel M. Kiddoo, 89, of Memphis died Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis.

She was born the daughter of Arthur Lee and Fannie (Shirley) Summers on December 7, 1918 in Akin, Illinois.

Macel married Clarence Albert Kiddoo on December 23, 1936 at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Springfield, IL.  He preceded her in death on July 11, 2001.

The Kiddoos farmed in Illinois before moving to Memphis in 1954.  Macel was a faithful member of the Methodist church, belonging to churches in Akin, Joy and Brock before joining the Memphis United Methodist Church.  She was a member of the United Methodist Women.

Macel enjoyed square dancing and raising dogs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Aylward and husband Phil of Memphis and Janice DeGraffenreid and husband David of Boonville, MO; sons, Allen Kiddoo of Muscatine, IA, and William “Bill” Kiddoo and wife Kathy of Memphis; a sister, Helen Ruth Shuppara of Springfield, IL; her grandchildren, Scott Aylward, Sally Yates, Sharon Triplett, Lori Gerke, Curtis Thomas, Emily and Hannah Kiddoo; great grandchildren, Kimberly Campbell, Laura Aylward, Julie Triplett, Melanie Triplett, Brittany Gerke, and Alex Thomas; two great great granddaughters, Katelin Parsons and Hannah Campbell.

Funeral service were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Rev. Terry Lippstreu, pastor of the Memphis United Methodist Church, officiating.  Brittany Gerke, soloist, performed Amazing Grace and Joan Hinds, organist, played during the service.  Burial was in the Brock Cemetery.  Stanley Eggleston, Scott Aylward, Curtis Thomas, John Aylward, Vaughn Biggs, and Donnie Gerke served as pallbearers.

 

Memorials have been suggested to the Brock Cemetery, Memphis United Methodist Church or the Scotland County Care Center and can be left at or mailed to the Gerth Funeral Service, 115 S. Main, Memphis, MO 63555.
