CCR-1 Seeks New Lady Indian Basketball Coach

 Lady Indian basketball head Coach Phil Klett has been released from his basketball coaching contract.
Teacher contracts were reviewed at the Monday, March 31 closed session meeting of the CCR-1 board, and on a 3-3-1 vote, Klett’s contract was not renewed. His teaching and football contract were not under consideration, as he has reached tenure with the district.
“You reach tenure with your sixth contract,” said CCR-1 Superintendent Ritchie Kracht, “or if you taught somewhere else for two years, you get tenure with you fifth contract. That’s how Missouri state law works”
Who will lead the 2008-09 the Lady Indians?
“We’re advertising right now, and hoping that we can add it to one of our new teacher positions, or someone internally may want to apply,” Kracht said.
The only other teacher not retained was ag teacher Leann Mienhardt. The vote by the board was 0-6-1.
