ALVIN J. MAST
Alvin J. Mast, age 88, of rural Kahoka, MO, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, inSt. John’s Medical Center in Creve Coeur, MO, following an automobile accident.
He was born November 27, 1919 at Nappanee, Marshall County, IN, a son of Jacob D. and Lydia Borkholder Mast.
He married Katie Borntreger on May 20, 1941. She preceded him in death in August of 1993.
Survivors include four sons, Jacob and Martha Mast of Revere, MO, Phineas and Martha Mast of Carrollton, MO, Sam and Anna Mast of McKenzie, TN, and Toby and Verna Mast of
Monticello, MO; two daughters, Anna and Henry Eicher of Kahoka, MO and Lydia and Daniel Lee of Carrollton, MO; 54 grandchildren; 110 great grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; six brothers; three sisters; also many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Katie; a daughter, Sarah; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers; and, four sisters.
Alvin was Old Order Amish. He was a retired farmer and later a rug weaver. His faith and family were very important to him.
Services were Monday, July 21, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the Chris Miller residence, rural Kahoka, MO. Burial followed in the Amish Cemetery. The family was assisted by Wilson Funeral Home.
