JANET LUCILLE SHAW

Janet Lucille Shaw, age 72 of Rutledge, Missouri, died Saturday morning, August 30, 2008 at Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Missouri.
She was born March 18, 1936, near Rutledge, Missouri the daughter of Milton Adams and Jewell Lorena (Peterson) Price.
On July 18, 1953, in Edina, Missouri she was united in marriage to Harold Dean Shaw and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2002. To this union four children were born.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Dean Shaw and wife Mary Ann of Rutledge, Missouri, Asa Leon Shaw and wife Ann of Gorin, Missouri, one daughter Judy Lorena Musgrove and husband Dale of Gorin, Missouri, one sister, Dorothy Dale Clark and husband Emery of Rutledge, Missouri, two sisters-in-law, Hazel Bualle and husband John of Las Vegas, Nevada, Helen Brooks of Aztec, New Mexico, two brothers-in-law, John Shaw of Quincy, Illinois and Asa Shaw of Newhall, California, eight grandchildren, Tonya Hamlin and husband Chris of Edina, Missouri, Adam Shaw and wife Rita of Blackburn, Missouri, Travis Hess and wife Ashley of Mendon, Illinois, Kristy Shaw of Rutledge, Missouri, Julie Shaw of Canton, Missouri, Jamie Shaw of Gorin, Missouri, Amanda Crane and husband Jason of Kahoka, Missouri and Cody Musgrove of Gorin, Missouri and six great-grandchildren, Alexandrea and Karissa Hamlin of Edina, Missouri, Jillian and Dawson Crane of Kahoka, MO, Lucy and Clay Hess of Mendon, Illinois, step-grandchildren, Tommy Harsell and wife Tammy of Baring, Missouri, Tammy Morgan of Brashear, Missouri, Robby and wife Kelly of Brashear, Missouri, Terry Harsell of Brashear, Missouri and step-great-grandchildren, Brett and Brittany Harsell of Baring, Missouri, Katelyn Stauffer of Brashear, Missouri and Emma Harsell of Brashear, Missouri, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her special cousin Beverly Givens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, one son, Tony Shaw, two grandsons, Michael and Jason Shaw and one sister Norma Clary.
Janet was a lifelong resident of the Rutledge and Colony community where she was engaged in farming with her husband Harold of forty-nine years. She attended Brick School and graduated from the Baring High School.
Janet was a member of the Harmony Grove Baptist Church and had gone to church there since she was a baby. She enjoyed being on the farm where she had her cattle, chickens and her garden. She was an excellent cook and baker and her meals will be greatly missed by her family! Janet also had her best friends, DeeDee, Hooter, Chelsea, and Maggie, her canine companions! Janet was also a highly devoted mother and grandmother. She loved for her family to always be around and especially the little ones who brought great joy to her life.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Reverend Mike Wilson officiated the services. Burial was in the Harmony Grove Cemetery.
Music will be provided by Reverend Mike Wilson singing “Take My Hand Precious Lord”. A recorded musical selection “God On The Mountain” was also be played.
Casket bearers were John Shannon, Howard Hackamack, Mike Webster, Milton Clary, Lester Clark and Larry Clark.
Honorary bearers were Larry Carroll and David Alderton, Jr.
