Norman Ray Nance

 Norman Ray Nance passes away Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri at the age of 68.

Norman Ray Nance was born March 24, 1940 in Alton, Missouri to the late Epter and Alma (Bettis).

Norman served his Country in the United States Marine Corps from December 3, 1958 to December 2, 1964. Norman was born in Alton, Missouri on the Current River, and later moved to Poplar Bluff, Missouri on the Black river, so as a young boy he learned to love the river and all it had to offer, from swimming to gigging and fishing. The joys of fishing stayed with him throughout his life. He loved the outdoors he enjoyed gardening and raising peaches, always ready to share the bounty with friends and family. Norman was a member of the Winkler Baptist Church, he had great faith in the Lord.
Norman is survived by his sons; Sons; Earl Nance and wife Carrie, of Kahoka, MO; Darrel Nance and wife Ronda, of Kahoka, MO; Gary Nance, of Kahoka, MO; brothers; Carroll Nance and wife Joanne, of St. Clair, MO; Kenneth Nance and wife Connie, of Poplar Bluff, MO; Sherman Nance and wife Thelma, of St. Clair, MO; Earl Nance and wife Sherrill, of St. Clair, MO; sisters: Sylvia Bollinger, of Springfield, MO; Mary Payne and husband Roy, of Steelville, MO; Helen Ward and husband David, of Poplar Bluff, MO; grandchildren, Todd Nance, Stephanie (Nance) Pezley, Jacob Nance, Jessica Nance, Cody Nance; one great-grandson, Cale Nance, several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Funeral service for Norman Nance will be held Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Casey Reed officiating. Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in St. James, Missouri. A visitation for family and friends will be held Prior to the service Sunday, October 12, 2008 from 11:OO AM to 1:00 PM.
