Knox County shortstop Hannah Dale and Brashear catcher Abby McKim were recently named to the to the Northeast Class 2 and Class 1 All-Region softball teams. Dale and McKim were previously selected to their respective All Conference and All District softball teams.
The all region teams are typically made up of four softball districts in an area of the State. Student-athletes voted to the All-Region teams are nominated for all state consideration in their respective enrollment classifications.
Brashear had two players selected to the 2008 Class 1 All-District 9 softball team. Sophomore Abby McKim batted .464 with 26 runs batted in and scored 28 runs in 56 at bats. McKim sported a slugging percentage of .696 with an on base percentage of .686.
The returning first team all conference and all district catcher had seven doubles and three triples among her 26 hits on the season. Abby McKim struck out only three times all season with 15 bases on balls drawn.
Abby McKim was previously named to the 2008 Tri-County Conference softball first team and to the Class 1 All-Region Softball Team.
Lady Tiger freshman shortstop/pitcher Cierra Hines batted .433 this season with 15 RBI’s in 67 at bats. Cierra stole nine bases, scored 26 runs along with four doubles among 25 hits. Hines struck out eight times this season and drew five walks. She had an on base percentage of .646 and slugged .478.
Cierra Hines was previously named to the 2008 Tri-County All Conference softball first team.
North Shelby saw four players make the All District Nine softball team. Senior Jillian Yoder, Juniors Olivia Ahern, and Mariah Jones along with sophomore Jessica Linberger. LaPlata seniors Gara Curtis and Laura Tuggle were voted to the all district team.
Class 1 semi-finalist Canton saw seniors Lindsey Lillard and Kara Uhlmeyer, juniors Jessi Logsdon, Tori Niemann, Jamie Janney and sophomore Kristyn Caldwell make the all district squad. Kayla Tuley and Kayla Bridgeman represented Marion County.
Knox County junior Brittany Miller and sophomore Hannah Dale earned first team Class 2 All District 12 honors. Junior Myra Parrish was voted to the Honorable Mention All-District team from Knox County.
Hannah Dale was a first team Tri-Rivers Conference softball selection. Hannah batted .382 on the season with 15RBI’s and 11 doubles. Hannah Dale was also named to the Class 2 All-Region softball second team.
Brittany Miller batted .265 on the season with a home run and seven runs driven in. Miller struck out 144 batters on the season and led the Tri-Rivers Conference in strikeouts with 84 strikeouts in conference play.
Brittany Miller is a repeat all conference and all district selection. Brittany was previously named to the 2008 All Tri-Rivers Conference softball second team.
Junior third baseman Myra Parrish batted .375 on the season with a home run and 12RBI’s. Myra Parrish was an Honorable Mention All-District selection. Myra was previously named to the 2008 Tri-Rivers All Conference softball second team.
Highland freshman Julie Schultz was tabbed to the Class 2 District 12 first team and made the Class 2 All Region second team. Julie Schultz was previously named to the 2008 Clarence Cannon All-Conference first team.
Clark County junior pitcher Brooke Wheeler earned all district 12 status after being named to the TRC all conference first team. Putnam County senior pitcher Stacy Hines was a first team all conference, all district and all region selection. Hines was the Tri-Rivers Conference softball MVP in 2008.
Schuyler County senior hurler Alyssa Greenstreet made her first team all conference and all district teams along with the all region second team. Highland sophomore catcher Ashley Rundquist was a first team All District 12 selection and a CCC Honorable Mention pick.
Highland junior Jessica Murfin and senior Ashlan Knoche were first team all district infielders. Murfin was a first team all conference selection. Ashlan Knoche made the Clarence Cannon second team.
Putnam County seniors Katie Steele and Hilary Mason were first team all district picks. Steele made the Class 2 first team all region unit.
Clark County senior Britni Bertelli was a first team all district and a second team all conference selection this season. Junior infielder Cady Flood earned second team all district and third team all Tri-Rivers Conference honors.
Schuyler County junior Kaitlyn Stump was a first team all conference, all district and all region pick. Scotland County senior Deidra Dochterman was a second team all conference and honorable mention all district selection.
Amanda Hinkle represented Highland on the Honorable Mention All-District team. Brandy Shultz of Putnam County was an honorable mention all-district and all conference second teamer. Jakki Ebert made the honorable mention all district along with the second team All Tri-Rivers Conference softball team.
