 Lady Indians Pulled One Out

The Clark County Lady Indians took on a very good Kirksville team on Tuesday, December 2.

The opening quarter was even up as both teams scored 8 points each. Four Clark County Ladies scored 2 each and it was a tied at 8 all.

In the second quarter saw the lady Indians outscore the Lady Tigers 9-6 behind Morgan Bertelli’s 3 points and the Lady Indians led at halftime 17-14. Six different Lady Indians scored in the first half.
The third quarter saw Britni Bertelli hit a pair of 3 pointers but the Lady Tigers countered with 3 treys of their own and took the quarter 18-15 to tie the game at 32 all after three quarters behind Britni Bertelli’s 8 points.

The final quarter saw both teams shoot the lights out.
The Lady Indians were leading 48-45 and Kirksville’s Jackie Bishop it a 3 pointer with 6 seconds to tie the game and sent it into overtime tied at 48 all.

In the overtime the Lady Tigers had the ball first and Erin Waddle hit a basket to give Kirksville the lead. Clark County answered with a free throw. Cady Flood hit another free throw to tie it again.
Chelsea Edmondson added a basket and Britni Bertelli hit 3 of 4 free throws. Megan Brennan, Cady Flood and Britni Bertelli made 5 of 8 and Chelsea added the basket to take the game by outscoring the Lady Tigers 7-4 in overtime 55-52.

The Lady Indians were led in scoring by Britni Bertelli with 14, followed by Megan Brennan with 9, Brooke Wheeler and Chelsea Edmondson each had 8, Cady Flood added 7, Morgan Bertelli added 6, Caitlyn Davis added 2 and Kayla Buschling added 1.
The Lady Indians are now 1-1 on this young season and will travel to West Hancock on December 5 (Warsaw).
