RAYMOND “MIKE” SCOTT

Raymond “Mike” Scott age 90, of LaPlata, Missouri, died Monday, January 5, 2009, at the LaPlata Nursing Home at LaPlata, Missouri.
He was born July 10, 1918 at Colony, Missouri, the son of Frank and Mary Carmack Scott.
On February 4, 1941, at Kahoka, Missouri he was united in marriage to Geraldine Reta Myers and she preceded him in death on June 1, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jerry Ray Scott, five brothers, Alney, James, Eldon, Elmo and Melvin Scott, three sisters, Virgie Franke, Ivy Dauma, and Elizabeth Spidle.
Surviving are two sons, Frank Lewis Scott and wife Diana of LaPlata, Missouri, Roger William Scott and wife Tammy of LaBelle, Missouri, one brother-in-law, Delbert Myers and wife Neta Lou of LaBelle, Missouri, one sister-in-law, Relta Scott of Baring, Missouri four grandchildren, Julia Darr Scott, Stefanie West and husband Richard, Justin Scott and Jaclyn Scott, three great grandchildren, Samantha Darr, Scott West and Bradley West, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike was reared in the Colony area and attended high school in LaBelle. Mike was a member of Harmony Grove Church while living on their farm near Rutledge.
Mike spent his adult life on his farm near Rutledge, farming and raising horses. Mike enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and spending time at the Dog and Gun Auction/Flea market in Rutledge driving his team and wagon and visiting with good neighbors.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2009, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. The Reverend Ernest Deatrick and Reverend Dewayne Wellborn officiated the services. Burial was in the LaBelle Cemetery.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
