Bill H. Carroll, 79, of Kahoka, MO, died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
He was born on October 25, 1929 in Schyler County, MO, the son of Raymond and Bessie Anderson Carroll. He married Wilma Alice Jean Krouse on January 16, 1949 in Kahoka, MO. She preceded him in death on April 8, 1994. He married Lena Mae Deatrick Fogelsong on October 22, 1994 in Wyaconda, MO. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Barbara Jean Pentzel and her husband Darrel of Winfield, IA, Linda Sue Hoyt and her husband Mark of Keokuk, IA, and Brenda Kay Long and her husband Mike of Madison, AL, two sons, Billy Joe Carroll of Donnellson, IA and Arney Lee Carroll and his wife Susan of Medill, MO, two step-daughters, Gloria Johnson and her husband Leroy of Burlington, IA and Janet Wellman and her husband David of Washington, IA, one step-son, Dennis Foglesong and his wife Donna of Hannibal, MO, one sister, Shirley Butler and her husband Norman of Medill, MO, eight grandchildren, Brandy Zamora, Bryan Monohon, Jan Cady, Shawn Long, Todd Long, Brias Carroll, Jessica Carroll and Brooke Carroll, six step-grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Carroll and Kenneth Carroll, one sister-in-law, Goldie Carroll, two grandchildren, Dina Lynn Hoyt and Corey Taylor and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was the owner/operator of Carroll Logging in Medill, Missouri for 50 years.
He was a member of the Wyaconda Baptist Church in Wyaconda, MO where he enjoyed singing in the choir.
He enjoyed mushroom hunting, gardening, fishing and barbequing at family gatherings. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved to spend time with his family.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Reverend Ernest Deatrick officiating. Burial will be in the Kahoka Cemetery.
Visitation will be held after 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with the family meeting with friends from 6 – 8 p.m.
