Michael Dean Shaw, age 54, of Rutledge, Missouri, died Friday, January 23, 2009, in Wilmington, Illinois.
He was born March 10, 1954, in Adair County, Missouri, the son of Harold Dean and Janet Lucille Price Shaw.
On July 17, 1976, at Ewing, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann McDowell.
Surviving are his wife Mary Ann Shaw of Rutledge, Missouri, one daughter Kristy Marie Shaw of Rutledge, Missouri, one son, Mahlon James Kugler of Kirksville, Missouri, one grandson, Jayden Price Kugler of Kirksville, Missouri one brother Leon Shaw and wife Ann of Gorin, Missouri, one sister, Judy Lorena Musgrove and husband Dale of Gorin, Missouri, his in-laws Earl and Mary Weitnauer of Quincy, Illinois, grandmother-in-law, Ann Lang of Quincy, Illinois, sisters-in-law, Jodi Pryor and husband Terry of Hannibal, Missouri, and Jean Kindhart and husband Troy of Quincy, Illinois, brother-in-law, Donald McDowell and wife Cindy of Taylor, Missouri, uncles John Shaw and wife Patty of Quincy, Illinois and Asa Shaw of Newhall, California, aunts Hazel Buelle and husband John of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dorothy Dale Clark and husband Emery of Rutledge, Missouri and Helen Brooks of Farmington, New Mexico and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Michael Carson Shaw and Jason Dean Shaw, and one brother, Tony Martin Shaw.
Mike was raised in Knox County where he received his education graduating from Knox County High School. For the past eighteen years Mike as been employed as a truck driver, and the past several years with Thompson Inc. of Quincy, Illinois. Mike enjoyed the river, fishing, gardening, playing cards, driving his truck on the open road, and spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. The Reverend Mike Wilson will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Harmony Grove Cemetery southeast of Rutledge, Missouri. Casket bearers will be Bob Hayes, Tim Powers, Robert Gilker, Jason Johnson, Bud Kinmen, Donald McDowell, John W. Shaw and Mahlon James Kugler. Honorary bearer will be Herbie Fountain, and Melvin Kindhart.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
