Litter. Trash. Garbage. No matter what you call it, litter is bad for Missouri. It poses health risks. It harms the environment. And it costs time and money to clean up. The Missouri Department of Conservation and MoDOT are inviting students from grades K through 8 to participate in their annual trashcan decorating competition. Students are asked to decorate and display a large trashcan with the “No MOre Trash!” logo and a litter prevention message using a variety of creative mediums. The school that submits the grand prize entry will receive $500 and a trophy, while $100 prizes in each of the three categories also will be awarded. There is no entry fee and participating classes simply need to submit an entry form and a photo of the completed can. Entry forms and other details about the contest can be found by visiting www.nomoretrash.org. You CAN make a difference! Decorate a trashcan, and help remind Missourians to be litter free. |
