Marjorie L. Lucas, 90, of Sun City, AZ formerly of Wayland, MO, died Wednesday,
April 15, 2009 at the Freedom Plaza Hospice Care Center in Peoria, AZ.
    
She was born November 29, 1918 in Memphis, MO, the daughter of Shedrick and
Gladys Alexander Rhodes.  She was first married to John Galbraith.  To this
union were born two sons, Jim and Richard.  John preceded her in death.  She
then married Thomas Ferris.  To this union a son, Terry and a daughter, Beverly
were born. Thomas also preceded her in death.  On October 18, 1959, she married
Howard Lucas, Sr. in Quincy, IL.  To this union one son, Howard, Jr. was born. 
Howard preceded her in death on April 18, 1994.
     Marjorie was a member of
the First Baptist Church in Wayland, Missouri.
     She is survived by three
sons, Jim Galbraith and his wife Michelle, Richard Galbraith and his wife Nancy,
and Terry Ferris all of Sun City, AZ, one daughter, Beverly O’Hara and her
husband Al of Schaumburg, IL, eight grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.
     Besides her husbands she was also preceded in death by
her parents, a son, Howard Lucas, Jr. and three brothers.
     Funeral
services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 24 at the Vigen Memorial Home
in Kahoka, MO with Pastor Dan Deatrick officiating.  Burial will be in the
Memphis Cemetery in Memphis, Missouri.
     Visitation will be held after 1
p.m. Thursday with the family meeting with friends from 5 -7 p.m. at the funeral
home.
