Brett Bryant Wins Tri-Rivers Conference Academic Award

Knox County R-I graduate Brett Bryant recently won the 2009 Tri-Rivers Conference Academic Award. Bryant participated in baseball and basketball. He was the Valedictorian of the KCHS Class of 2009.
The conference academic award is calculated using the student-athlete’s grade point average, their ACT score and participation in activities.
Brett Bryant scored 24.50 points. Kasey Knight of Putnam County was second on the list with 24.48 points. Caitlyn Davis of Clark County was third overall with 24.33 points.
North Shelby senior Jillian Yoder was fourth at 24 points. Christina Duzan of Scotland County placed fifth at 22.96 points. Lynn Williams of Clark County was sixth at 22.79. Katie Steele of Putnam County placed seventh with 22.50 points.
Rachel Daw of Clark County was eighth at 22.48 followed by Elsa Scott of Clark County who finished ninth overall with 22.42 points. Dahn Kemp of North Shelby rounded out the top ten with 22.39 points.
Brett Bryant will attend Columbia College next fall majoring in Sports Management. Bryant was named to the 2008 Missouri Baseball Coaches’ Association Class 1 Academic All-State Baseball team. Brett Bryant’s parents are Kirk and Joni Bryant.
Mrs. Joni Bryant is retiring from the high school secretary job at Knox County R-I after 13 years of service.
