HELEN M. SHINN

Helen Mae Shinn, age 93, of LaBelle, Missouri died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in the LaBelle Manor Care Center.
Born April 21, 1916 in Lewis County, Missouri she was the daughter of Hugh and Monie Mae Morgan Wilson.
January 30, 1942 she married Porter William Shinn and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1999.
Helen was a graduate of LaBelle High School and for 19 years worked with the Monticello, Missouri A.S.C. office. Later, she worked as a secretary for both Spicknall Seed Company and the M.F.A. Seed Division of LaBelle. She was a member of the First Christian Church of LaBelle where she served as Church Treasurer for 52 years and was a member of the Come Join Us Class of the church. Helen was also a member of the LaBelle Chapter #316 Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two sisters, Betty Miller and husband John of Lebanon, Missouri and Virginia Brodman of Arlington Heights, Illinois; two brothers, Wallace Wilson and wife Bonnie of Burlington, Iowa and Royal Wilson and wife Bettie of Pekin, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Porter Shinn; a sister, Marguerite Morgan and two brothers, Russell W. Wilson and Rolland H. Wilson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri. Reverend Maynard Blackwood and Pastor Joe Jorgensen officiated the services. Burial was in the LaBelle Cemetery.
