Larry Strong Phillips, age 68, of Edina, Missouri, died at his residence on Sunday, August 23, 2009.
He was born in Macon, Missouri, on February 5, 1941, the son of Homer Christy and Margaret Ann Ayers Phillips.
On August 17, 1964, at Booneville, Missouri he was united in marriage to Barbara Sue Edmunds.
Surviving are his wife Barbara Sue Phillips of Edina, Missouri, three children Laura Sue Allen and husband Nate of Heidelberg, Germany, Larry Strong Phillips of Lawrence, Kansas, and Lisa Suzanne Chrisman of Columbia, Missouri, six grandchildren, Miles, Caroline and Catherine Chrisman, Morgan Valentine, Shelby and Olivia Allen, one sister-in-law, Carol Phillips of Macon, Missouri, two nephews, Todd Phillips of Macon, Missouri and Troy Phillips of Washington D.C., and one aunt Donna Ayers of Macon, Missouri.
Larry was a graduate from Macon High School, attended William Jewel College and graduated from University of Missouri at Columbia, Missouri with a Law Degree.
After graduating from the University of Missouri, Larry moved to Knox County where he joined the Brown and Normile Law firm. Presently Larry owned and operated the Phillips Law Firm in Edina, Missouri. Larry played football for one year while at William Jewel College, he was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with family and friends; especially his grandchildren.
At his request Larry was cremated. A Memorial service will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
Friends may call Thursday, August 27, 2009, after 9 a.m. with the family receiving friends from 12 noon until time of services at 1 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
