NORBERT L. KILLDAY

Norbert Leo (Norb) Killday, age 68, of Wyaconda, Missouri, died Saturday, September 19, 2009, at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. He was born December 19, 1940, in Byron Township near Waseca, Minnesota the son of Glen Joseph and Evelyn Marion Lehman Killday.
He was united in marriage to Elsie Katherine (Kathie) Prebe on October 3, 1964, at Edina, Missouri and she preceded him in death on February 19, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Judy Bishop.
Surviving are three children, Mary Beth St. Clair and husband Verne of Wyaconda, Missouri, Keith Brian Killday and wife Shari of Ft. Pierce, Florida, and Stephen Michael Killday and wife Ronni of Wyaconda, Missouri; five grandchildren, Heather Anne St. Clair, Kristen Lea St.Clair, Veronica Renee Killday, Elise Danelle Killday, and Matthew Glen Killday; one sister, Mary Romella Eagen of Kirksville, Missouri, one brother and sister-in-law, Pat and Sherrie Killday of Montgomery City, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Ruthie Brandt and husband Joe of Lake Ozark, Missouri and Bebe Ann Rimer of Edina, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Ray Prebe and wife Vi of Edina, Missouri and Dan Bishop and wife Judi of Baring, Missouri, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Norb attended grade school in Byron Township in Waseca, Minnesota until 1950 and Oak Grove Elementary in Adair, Missouri and graduated from Baring High School.
He served his country in the United States Navy from July 1959 to July 1963 and from 1963 to 1965 served in the United States Navy Reserves. He worked at Gragg Plumbing & Heating in Edina, Missouri, and for the City of Kahoka for many years as City Manager and Head Electrician until he retired in June of 2008.
Norb enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, friends, and extended family. He loved his cattle and the family farm was his pride and joy.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, Missouri. Father Joseph Hoi and Reverend Ken Berry officiated the services. Burial with full Military Honors was in the Veterans Garden of Honor in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, Missouri.
Music was provided by Brent Karhoff, soloist and Nancy Reardon, organist.
A Prayer service was held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, in the chapel.
