Clark County Falls To Schuyler County In District Play

The Clark County Lady Indians traveled to Lancaster to face the Schuyler County Lady Rams in the first round of the district tournament.
In the first inning,. Morgan Bertelli stuck out, and Brianna Alderton grounded out.  Brooke Wheeler hit a double, and Hannah Trump flied out to right field.
The Lady Indians went down swinging in the second, with Chelsea Edmondson, Cady Flood and Deanna Shoup all striking out.
In the third inning, the Lady Indians still couldn’t get a hit, with Megan Brenna, Tara Sutterfield and Bertelli all striking out.
Clark County went down in order in the fourth, with Alderton and Wheeler grounding out and Trump getting thrown out at first.
Edmondson struck out to lead the fifth, and Flood grounded out to short.  Shoup reached first on an error, and  Brennan ended the inning, gounding out.
The sixth inning went much the same way, with Sutterfield grounding out, and Bertelli and Alderton striking out.
The Lady Indians came into the seventh trailing 2-0.  Wheeler reached first on an error, and Trump singled.  Edmondson laid down a near-perfect sacrifice bunt to advance the runners.  Shoup slammed a triple, scoring both Wheeler and Trump, and tieing the game at 2-2.  
In the bottom of the seventh, the Lady Rams won on a two-run home run, ending the Clark County season
