Scherry Lea Baxter, 55, of Kahoka, MO died Monday, October 26, 2009 at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, MO
She was born on August 13, 1954, in Hancock County, Illinois, the daughter of Wade and Eva Shaffer Baxter.
Scherry was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, going to yard sales, shopping and collecting jewelry.
She is survived by six children, Lori Andrews and her husband Paul of Higbee, MO, John Leisenring, Jr. of Canton, MO, Linda Hageman and her husband Brian of Kahoka, MO, Lisa Brooks and her husband John of Wayland, MO, Leann Clark of Alexandria, MO, and Lacy Miller of Georgia, six grandchildren, Bailey Brooks, Abby Brooks, Gabby Brooks, Emma Brooks, Trinity Clark, and Drayden Leisenring.   
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Joey Hammond and one daughter, Lana Hammond.
Funeral services were held at 1 P.M. Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Rev. Bob Lane officiating.
 Visitation was held after 11 a.m. Thursday until time of service with family meeting with friends at that time.
Musical selections were “The Dance,” “Coat of Many Colors” and “Angel.”
Pallbearers were Jeremy Boudewyn, John Leisenring, Sr, John Brooks, Brian Hageman, Jon Boudewyn, and Steve Mayer.
Burial was in the Gorin Cemetery.
