Patricia Ann “Pat” Orton, 74, of Memphis, MO died Sunday night, November 22, 2009,
at her home in Memphis.

The daughter of Richard S. and Helen Burdette (Anderson) Tucker.  She was born July 16, 1935 in Iowa.  

Pat was a homemaker and farm wife for more than 40 years, living just north of Azen, MO.  She enjoyed gardening and canning while she lived out on the farm.  Pat also loved to crochet and do genealogy of her family.  She was extremely dedicated to her hobby of genealogy.  Everybody will miss her homemade pies and fudge that she made every year.  Pat always had time and patience for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons; Mark Orton and his wife Lisa of rural Memphis, MO,  Doug Orton and his wife Linda of Smithville, MO,  three grandchildren, Craig Orton and his wife Jennifer of Hannibal, MO, Brandi Sutter and her husband AJ of St. Charles, MO, and Jessica Orton of Smithville, MO, one step-granddaughter; Lauren Tiderencel of Cameron, MO, one great-granddaughter Jailyn Sutter and one great-grandson Tate McIntosh;  one brother Kenneth Tucker and his wife Virginia of Turner, Oregon, four sisters; Mary Stepp and her husband Lee of Keokuk, IA, Lottie Clark and her husband Bill of Blue Grass, IA, Dottie Fraune and her husband Jim and Judy Tucker of rural Revere, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and two sisters.

Memorials are suggested to either the Hospice of Northeast Missouri or the Brock Cemetery Association and can be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, Missouri 63555.

Funeral services were held at the Payne Funeral Chapel on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 11:00 A.M.  Interment followed in the Brock Cemetery in rural Scotland County, MO.
Officiating the service was Brother Mike Wilson.
Pallbearers were Freddie Henderson, Paul Campbell, Mike Hyde, Roy Hyde, Brian Slocum and Ethan Wright.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
