Clark County’s Lady Indians got a home win on Tuesday, 12-15, as they hosted the Mark Twain Lady Tigers. Both teams started slowly in the first period, and Clark County trailed after one quarter 6-5. Brooke Wheeler found the shooting groove in the second quarter, pouring in a dozen points to lead the Lady Indians to a 23-14 halftime lead. Clark County added 14 more in the third period, and 17 more in the final eight minutes to down the Lady Tigers 54-45. Leading the Lady Indians was Brooke Wheeler with 24 points. Chelsea Edmondson, who battled foul trouble throughout the contest, added 10 points. Morgan Bertelli had eight, and Cady Flood had five. Megan Brennan had three, and Brianna Alderton and Katie Simpson each had two. The Clark County Indians battled the Tigers for three quarters before finally pulling away in the final eight minutes. Dakota Armstrong had the hot shooting hand early, with 11 first quarter points, including three 3-pointers. After one quarter, the Indians led 16-10. Five Indians scored in the second, but Mark Twain narrowed the Indian lead at the half to 29-26. Mark Twain stayed close in the third period, trailing 44-40 after three. In the fourth quarter, the Indians scored 21 of their 23 points from the free throw line, including a 12 for 12 performance by Ryan Whiston. Dakota Armstrong led the Indians with 20, and Justin Alderton had 19. Ryan Whiston has 12, and Justin Oilar added seven. Nathan Alderton had six points, Jeremy Logsdon had two, and Neal Moon had one point on the night.
