Marjorie Jeanette McCoy

Marjorie Jeanette McCoy, 87, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of
Rutledge, MO passed away in St. Petersburg, FL on Dec. 31, 2009.

The daughter of Lealand and Effie Dorsey, she was born on Oct. 7,
1922 in Knox County, MO.

Upon high school graduation Jeanette worked for the Schaefer Pen
Company for several years supporting the W.W. II effort and winning many war
department awards.

In 1947 she married Stanley McCoy and to this union two children were
born.

While her husband engineered for the Santa Fe Railroad she stayed at home,
living first in Chicago and later in Nauvoo, IL. She was active in the boys
lives during their school years attending P.T.A. and little league baseball
games. She stayed busy with activities in her church as well.

In 1979 they made several trips with their camper looking for covered bridges
and the perfect fishing lake throughout the Midwest, making friends as they
went.

She enjoyed collecting antiques and any crafts of nature.

Her pride and joy were her family, especially the five grandchildren whom she
loved to interact with and pass on the some of her family values.

Preceding her in death was her parents and her husband in 1989.

She is survived by two sons, Joe (Ann) McCoy of St. Petersburg, FL and
Richard (Mary) McCoy of Naples, FL; five grandchildren, Erin, Tim, Matthew,
Richard, and MacKenzey; along with several nieces & nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the Nauvoo United Methodist Church, 1610 Ripley
St., Nauvoo, IL 62354.

Graveside services were were held on Saturday, January, 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.
at the Pauline Cemetery in Rutledge, Missouri with Brother Jack Sumption
officiating.
