Company Uses Valuable Tool in Afghanistan

Soldiers with the South Dakota National Guard 211th
Engineer Company are now using a valuable tool in the war against improvised
explosive devices, or IEDs.

 

The Engineer Company uses a TALON robot. The robot is a
battery powered, track-based mobile platform that has been designed for
irregular and challenging terrain.  The
following video, by 1st Lt. Seth Iliff, the 203rd
Engineer Battalion’s public affairs officer, shows how the TALON is used on
daily missions in Afghanistan.
